Transformative Communication 'board meetings'

The number of children with complex needs has grown and continues to grow exponentially. With supportive services at full capacity and waiting times for referrals at an all-time high, it is falling more on schools to deal with problems that require specialist intervention.

With this in mind, I created the idea of a TC (Transformative Communication) board – a quarterly meeting for professionals most involved with complex children and subsequent complex behaviour. Each school can allocate one professional to attend the meetings.

TC ‘board meetings’ can be hosted both virtually or at a venue local to the schools involved.

Each meeting will be split into 2 halves;

The first half is an opportunity for professionals to network; sharing challenges, insights and good practice. This will also act as something of a ‘surgery’ where I can advise on how best to use Transformative Communication specific to the unique challenges mentioned.

During the second half of the meeting, the group will receive new training on specific elements of Transformative Communication and how to apply it.

We will have guest speakers and participants will have the opportunity to learn how to drive and lead Transformative Communication in their school.

The board will provide professional and self-development that could prove invaluable to both the professionals involved and the wider school team.

Being a member of the board entitles you to 4 ‘board meetings’ in an academic year. Members will also get a zoom call from myself every month in between the board meetings.

The board provides an opportunity to keep up to date with the most impactful ways to use the approach.

Board meetings will be a half-day commitment that will include refreshments.

I am flexible and available to run board meetings in specific schools with staff chosen by that school. Please get in touch to discuss further.
